#1 Noctaem May 08, 2015 21:36:18	Hello,   I have a player who is playing a Way of the Four Elements monk and I would like to better understand the interaction between the Fangs of the Fire Snake monk ability and various attack sources.  The rules entry is:   When you use the Attack action on your turn, you can spend 1 ki point to cause tendrils of flame to stretch out from your fists and feet.  Your reach with your unarmed strikes increases by 10 feet for that action, as well as the rest of the turn.  A hit with such an attack deals fire damage instead of bludgeoning damage, and if you spend 1 ki point when the attack hits you also deal 1d10 extra fire damage.   So here's what I want to make sure I understand:   1.  Does the extended reach apply to all attacks made during the turn.  IE, if the monk uses Flurry of Blows after spending the ki point to increase his reach, do the 2 flurry attacks also have 15 feet of reach?  Or is it only for the Attack action attack(s).  Same for the martial arts bonus action attack?  What about reactions?   2.  Can the Monk apply the bonus 1d10 fire damage to a hit from flurry of blows attacks that hit or only the Attack action attack(s)?  Same for the martial arts bonus action attack?  What about reactions?   Thanks for the help.

#5 Danny_Montanny May 10, 2015 7:51:06	Reactions never (or close enough) happen during your turn, so Fangs of the Fire Snake will never interact with them. Once your turn is over, the ability goes away.
