fighting style

With fighting style selection, it states you can't make another selection. Except for fighters who can select again.

I have a player who wants to multi class from paladin to fighter to gain another  fighting style. Legal?

It actually says that you can't take a fighting style option more than once. I read this as you can't select the same option twice and get double the benefit, not that you can't have more than one style.
