So I really wanna start playing D&D but I dont have any friends in the area that want to play it and I have no one to teach me. I found this sight called Roll20 where you can play it with others online, the only problem is that they all already seem to know what they're doing and have all played before. To play on this sight is there anything I need to buy? I know things like character sheets and dice are included online. Also, is there anyway someone could teach me how to play so I'm not going into this completely ignorant and blind? Has anyone else used this sight?

You can play on Roll20 totally for free. Don't buy anything. There is a free Basic pdf you can download and read the rules. Same for character sheets. No need to buy anything just yet, get your feet wet first.

There is a 5e D&D community on Roll20 already. I'll have a look for the link and post it below.
