| #1LharnJul 29, 2014 7:40:06 | So, the basic rules tell me that with an herbalism kit, I can craft antitoxins and Potions of Healing. The craft rules say that one (non-magical) vial of antitoxin would take 25 gp and 10 days. Are there any guidelines for crafting healing potions? Are healing potions considered 'magical' ? Interpolating between the last playtest and the Basic craft rules, healing potions also require 25 gp and 10 days. |

| #10PauperAug 22, 2014 12:59:26 | The question is still open, but only because there is confusion over whether the placement of the potion of healing on the adventuring gear list means that it is intended for it to be craftable as well as purchasable. The Adventurers League Players Guide seems fairly clear on the issue (it says you can't craft magic items, then in a different area says you can't buy magic items with the exception of potions of healing), but some people are insistent on an 'official' ruling.
With that said, since you can customize backgrounds by replacing an existing tool proficiency with a different tool proficiency, anybody who wants to be proficient with the herbalism kit can be.
