"The target can move only by pushing or pulling against a fixed object or surface within reach (such as a wall or a ceiling), which allows it to move as if it were climbing. You can change the target’s altitude by up to 20 feet in either direction on your turn. If you are the target, you can move up or down as part of your move. Otherwise, you can use your action to move the target, which must remain within the spell’s range."
Assuming the spell is cast on yourself and there's no wall to climb up, what's the absulte maximum height you can attain without actual flight? Can you move 20 feet/round, or your movement/round? Can you dash (either 20ft or your movement's worth)? What if you jump first?
Edit: can you use the disengage action to avoid opportunity attacks or the hide action while levitating (assuming that you cast the spell on a previous round)? I'd say yes.
The spell's range is 60 feet, so if the caster is on the ground the target can't get any higher than that. If the caster is levitating himself, then you can rise 20 ft/turn for the duration, so up to 2000 ft total.
You can't move more than 20 ft/round vertically (unless you're otherwise flying or climbing, I guess.)
No reason to think you can't disengage.

I assume that means within range of the caster, though I suppose it could mean within range of the point where the spell was cast.
Anyways, 2000ft was what I thought given that dash doesn't give you two movements, it only extends your movement. It doesn't matter if your speed is 30ft or 90ft, you must expend it all to levitate yourself 20ft. Oh well, I guess floating up to the height of the One World Trade Centre, CN Tower, or Tokyo Skytree should be enough for anyone.
