| #1SSJ-EchoesSep 20, 2015 16:06:16 | I have search online and I was wondering how exactly are the different ways to get a feat other than being a Varient Human?
I know there is a certain way to do so but I have no clue as to what exactly this is and my group and I (including the DM) are extremely new to D&D (picked up the Players Handbook and that's it).
Other than these two methods are there any other ways to get additional feats?
Thanks a lot guys! |

Many feats do include a +1 in an ability score but many feats don't but provide other useful features to make up for the lack of score increases.
Also the ability score cap is 20 (without magical assistance from things like manuals of ability) so depending on the characters scores the ability score increases may not even be very useful. |

Is it really more important to max out my main stat or get a feat which is "essential" for my character. (Damage Paladin and the feat is GReat Weapon Master). |

Pick what best reflects your character; are you known for being exceptionally stronger than other fighters, or more for having higher skill and training? That kind of thing. |

But it depends on what suits you and your character, and feats often give you extra tricks with which to play that you can't duplicate by some othe means. |
