| #2iserithJul 26, 2015 9:15:02 | Three lizardmen and one giant lizard does indeed have an adjusted value of 700 XP, but a Medium-difficulty challenge for a party of five 5th-level PCs is 2500 XP. That would be something like 5 lizardfolk, a lizardfolk shaman, and its pet giant lizard. It would take 7 such encounters to bring the party to 17,500 adjusted XP in an adventuring day. |

| #4Xeviat-DMJul 26, 2015 14:10:05 | I also use the adjsted xp towards the daily goal, but I don't count xp to level, I level by pacing for the story. The last game I ran had the players level each session. |
| #5Byakugan01Jul 26, 2015 20:46:54 | The xp totals in the book are nowhere close to what is possible in an AL group. A table of 6 or 7 players has a mich higher threshold but also takes forever for every turn. You'll only get a fraction of that. My players got a little under 900 xp each the last couple sessions which were combat heavy. I killed my first PC last week with an Umber Hulk. Totem barbarian was out of rages. Almost got 2 pcs. The life cleric used Revivify to bring the Barb back. |
