I’m worried about fighters in 5ed

Mayby it’s just me but it seems like fighters (and other classes with multiattack) will end up the same way they did in 3.x

At low level it is starting great, a lot of cool stuff, action surge, attack, and probably even more. You can ready an action to shove someone when they try to attack your friend, you can use help to give a friend an advantage and so on…

But as fighter gets more attack all others “maneuvers” become redounded, because the best action to take every turn is to attack. Help, Shove, Grapple and others, become useless when you can make 3+ attacks, why even bother? It will be the 3.x edition syndrome again – 5feet step and full attack, except now you can move you whole move…. Yehaaa….. still boring….

What do you guys think about it, I really don’t want it to be like that but I don’t see it any other way right now

Trip / shove / grapple / disarm are 1 attack out of your 3.    Not your full turn. (though help still is).  So fighters so get scaling utility.

So you can disarm a wizard, grab him, drag him, and shove them off a cliff all in 1 turn.

That said, they are still going to be boring compaired to spell casters.  But it's still a step up.

The champion is designed as a "boring" fighter. The battlemaster and eldritch knight will have a lot more options.

I have to agree.  Fighter was something of the red-headed stepchild of DnD in 3.x and a lot of the rules from the free download have that 3.x vibe.  I'm just hoping that they give the class better options and feats in 5th Ed.  You know something that truly sets them as the masters of martial weapons and generals that they're supposed to be.  Heck I'd actually like to see a return of the AD&D kit system if it was used to give them more options.  I also hope the game in general scales a bit better at the higher levels, it was a real problem in the last two editions.

Fighter is one of the srongest classes now for 5E. Sure some casters can throw some big spells but if your DM is making appropriate adventures they will be using some spells for utility as well.

A battle-master, at 20th level, with 2-weapon fighting will be able to get 9 attacks a round, and use a maneuver with each one of those attacks.  Such a character will be able to do crazy amounts of damage and crazy effects.  Insane potential.

Well, not 9 attacks every round...
