Improvised thrown weapons

As I understand oil and acid flasks are considered improvised weapons. Do they do 1d4 damage because of that property? As a thrown weapon they would use the Strength bonus to hit is that correct? Would they also and add the Strength bonus to damage? And can they crit for double damage?

It seems like all these things should be true, what are you opinions on this?

Mar 18, 2015 7:54:43 There are specific rules on how much damage they do, so no. In addition it's up to your DM to decide if an improvised weapon does any damage at all. From experience, for example, I can tell you that a standard plastic d20 thrown at the DM does no damage whatsoever.

Well, I am the DM, so it's up to me, but I wanted to get some opinions. And a D20 thrown at a DM causes a 10d6 fireball centered on the thrower.
