Can I use my shield as an Improvised Weapon?

If that is a "yes"...

  • Can I use Dual Wielder Feat with it?
  • Would I keep my AC bonus when I attacked with it? (hold over feeling from 3.5)
  • Can you choose a specific improvised weapon with the Weapon Master Feat? Such as the Shield or even comical things like mug or chair.

I dont know which way I would play it, I dont think it is that powerful because of the feats needed to make it work. Dual Wielder and Tavern Brawler/Weapon Master atleast. And the Shield would likely be 1D4. The biggest benefit is getting one more AC on a character already using a Shield.

id probably rule that in the round you use the shield as a weapon, you dont get it's AC bonus. So you would get to choose the extra attack, or more AC, round to round. I would let it work with two weapon rules, etc. I would let you choose specific improvised weapons via the weapon master feat, too.
