After reading the description of innate spellcasting, I don't see anything that differenciates it from a regular spell other than it's restrictions. Some of them even require spell components, like the pixies innate spell ability.

so, does the feat mage slayer work with innate spellcasting? I say yes, but I wanted some other opinions.

What is "Innate Spellcasting?"

Ah, I was looking for it in the PHB. That's why I couldn't find it.

Innate Spellcasting *is* spellcasting, just from an innate source instead of one granted by a class. Mage Slayer will affect these spells just like any other.

I agree.  An opponent using the "Spellcasting" or "Innate Spellcasting" feature would be subject to Mage Slayer, as would any character using an ability to "cast ...".  Any other special ability or action, even if it sounds or seems like a spell, isn't strictly a spell, however, and wouldn't be affected (such as an Imp's Invisibility action, or a Quasit's Scare attack).

I agree with the other posters so far. "Innate Spellcasting" is pretty much the same as spellcasting, in regard to the Mage Slayer features. Any feature described as a "spell-like ability" though, would not be affected by Mage Slayer features.
