Am I understanding this correctly? You no longer count negative hit points? Does that mean if an orc is standing next to an unconsious PC that the orc can continue to whack the PC every round but until the orc does damage equal or greater than the PC's Con score IN ONE HIT, the PC won't die?

Also, every time someone attacks you when you are at 0 HP it counts as if you had failed death save.  A critical hit gives 2 failed death saves.

Yeah, so, if you go down and make your death save, you are at 0 death saves.

Then someone attacks you, auto crit, you get 2 death saves. One more and you are dead.

However, if you went down and FAILED your death save, you get another, then another, then dead.

So if you drop someone, you need to hack someone TWICE to make SURE they are dead.

So I go by the old saying, "Once in the heart, once in the head, to make sure, they stay dead."

Intelligent enemies attack the opponents still up so as to drop them because they can kill anyone down while not still threatened by active opponents afterwards. IMO.
