Mirror image on top of invisibility spell. What happens?

How I would run it:

If the attacker knows that you are invisible, the Mirror Image spell doesn't help you at all; none of its attacks will target an illusion. If the attacker doesn't know that you're invisible, it will only target the illusions until they all disappear.

They both stack, but, being invisible, the benefits of mirror image are usless except to foes that can detect invisibility without also seeing through illusion.

They both stack. Remember that being invisible does not make you automatically hidden, therefore any attack against you (with disadvantage) may hit an image as per normal rules.

but would the invisibility spell also affect the mirror image who could be consider are "self" or just the one touch?

How would you rule this? if I am an illusionist (wizard) with the ability to go invisibile when someone hit me. I cast mirror image. SO when someone hit me I go invisibile, if they touch my illusion my illusion disapear (kinda go invisible) so if they hit me the enemy think I disapear so I was an illusion? and after hitting each illusion would beleive I ran away?

a creature is not relying on vision to hit an invisible creature.

I think the OP is asking from the standpoint of "There are four creatures in that square, three are illusions since I know one of them was real to begin with."

When a creature then targets and hits, an illusionary copy goes away.  Queue the mage readying invisibility for when he is hit after the final illusion drops.  To the creature, it just hit four "illusions" and caused them all to go away.  Unless it's super-smart, it would just think that all four things in that squares were illusions and it just wasted it's time.

Now, to counter this line of thought, you have to realize that illusions don't have a body.  So, the first three illusions were "hit" but the creature's claws, weapon, etc. passed through thin air.  When it hit the caster, the enemy felt a body, even though the body then disappeared.  So, a really stupid thing might think it made them all disappear (or it might rely on other senses besides sight and realize something is still in that space.)  An average intelligence being might have second thoughts about it but will likely move on to more visible targets.  A moderately intelligent thing might take an experimental swing in the space, just to be sure there's nothing there.  A super intelligent being will throw down a fireball.  ;)

From the viewpoint of a member of Team Monster:

Being moderately intelligent and in a hurry to defeat all Heroes before I get hurt, I blow down all the illusions and the original (which I can't tell the difference) then go after another visible target.  If somebody is being tricksy (invisible), he might decide to just sneak away rather than face me and my cohort all by himself.

I would not expect a different spell to affect a mirror image, any more than I would expect a Mirror Image to be affected by your Mage Armor spell that you cast on yourself.

I really really hate the way they describe invisibility and hiding...It is really really counterintuitive.  You can have situations where you are EASIER to find while you are invisible than if you are visible.

If you are hidden, I usually can't find you, but if you cast invisibility then I can just start paying attention to other enemies and let my Passive Investigate skill point out the visual clues to constantly let me know where you are.
