#1 lkwpeter Mar 28, 2015 0:31:16	Hey all,   for the Arcane Trickster the RAW say on pg. 98:   "Starting at 3rd level, when you cast mage hand, you can make the spectral hand invisible, and you can perform the following additional tasks with it: • You can stow one object the hand is holding in a container w orn or carried by another creature. • You can retrieve an object in a container worn or carried by another creature. • You can use thieves’ tools to pick locks and disarm traps at range."   My question is: Will an item, that the invisible hand is completely enclosing also be insivible? Or is the item I might have get by pickpocketing "flying through the air", so that it won't make any difference if the mage hand is invisible or not?   Peter
#2 RPGBG Mar 28, 2015 1:20:06	It the end it's up to your DM, but being invisible pretty much means being 99% transparent. If it was making carried items invisible - it should have been added in the ability description. On the other hand - all invisibility spells make the worn or carried items invisible as well, so there certainly is a precedent... soooo - ask your DM. 5e has the habbit of leaving such minor rule interactions to the DMs unlike the "in does not exist unless it's in the RAW" attitude of 4e. If I was to rule it out - I would just give the affected NPCs a perception check to notice the theft and leave it to the rogue to find a way to provide an adequate distraction if he wants better chance to remain undetected. In other words I consider the hand to be visible, but still small and agile enough to be able to "hide in plain sight". Also - even if they notice it - it will be after the action is completed.
