Hello. I came across a sentence that I do not fully understand. (I am not a native English speaker.) It is in the cleric description, and it seems a bit much complicated and not clear to me. Can somebody rephrase it in more simple English what it means, please? The sentence is:

 

For those evildoers who will benefit most from a mace to the head, clerics depend on their combat training to let them wade into melee with the power of the gods on their side.

Basically:

 

Sometimes, it is better to use weapons instead of spells.  Clerics have combat training so they can fight well with weapons in addition to spells.
