Little guys and big weapons

Maybe I'm missing it, but do halflings have any restrictions on the size of the weapons they can use? I want to convert the 4th edition halfling ranger I played into 5th edition, and before, I had to equip him with a shortbow instead of a longbow. Is that still the case, or can my little guy have a big bow now?

Thanks!

You're stuck with a shortbow, sorry. You can't use a greatsword very well, either.

Big weapons are designated with the "Heavy" property, which causes small creatures to suffer Disadvantage on all attacks made with them. On the positive side, though, you can use a longsword with one hand in the exact same manner as a dwarf or orc would - you're cut off from the biggest weapons, but you're not also worse with the moderately-sized ones.

Two weapon fighting is perfectly balance as written. It makes no sense to mess with it.
