Hi fellow gamers and hopefully by extenstion... anyone-who-works-at-wizards-and-can-get-back-to-me-because-your-support-email-process-is-borked-nerfed-broken-stupidly-frustrating-with-an-impossible-dc-of-30.

Yes, I know this isn't the right forum for this... but I'm at my wit's end. Any assistance would be wonderful. I don't think what I need is very complicated... I just need to be able to speak to a human somewhere in Wizards.

In the halycon days of early November 2014, Wizards sent me an email saying "Congratulations! You Wizards account was successfully migrated to our new account..." I went to log on, and got an error. It's a vague non-specific error saying I should contact support. "Oops, something went wrong!"

I tried to reset my password, and while this ostensibly worked as far as receiving the email with the link to reset the password, actually hitting on submit with the new passwords always failed.

I tried a few days later. And then again two weeks later. Nope. Okay, I needed help.

To contact support though, you need an account. Hmmm. The literal definition of a Catch 22. So I decided to instead reach out to press@wizards address, and lo and behold I did get a response. The friendly gentleman wrote and told me to make a temp account, so I could contact support. He couldn't provide me with an email address internally, but also helpfully suggested I could phone their call centre. I reminded him in my follow up, that as I live in South Africa, my desire to spend a lot of money phoning an international call centre wasn't very high... when something like email - a veritable digital raven - exists. I just need someone to click a checkbox (or something) next to my name on a database somewhere.

But I took his advice, and tried to make a temp account. For whatever reason, Safari doesn't like the dropdowns for the year of one's birth... and I couldn't, with any amount of expletive ridden cajoling get the dropdown to accept any year. The month and the day, right next to it - worked fine. sigh. I downloaded and tried another browser, and had the same issue. Ah the glory of working on the untested Apple platform. Beaten for the time being, I gathered my strength for another attempt after christmas.

I wrote back to the nice man at Press, and several weeks later I think he's hoping I go away and solve this in the "normal" manner.

I would use a friend's PC, that understands the arcane magic that is a dropdown and make an account, and then be able to mail customer support to reinstate my old account. Excellent news, the dropdown works. I got an email and a very snazzy temporary username. Awesome.

I navigated to the customer contact page. No, I don't need an answer... and anyway, searching for "migration" doesn't net a response. I need to email someone. Hit that email tab and this is what I get.

So... now even with a temporary account, the email contact doesn't work.
Press@wizards is ignoring me.
I think emailing Hasbro is like asking Ao to talk to Torm about a whetstone blessing.
I point blank refuse to phone a call centre, and spend not a small sum, navigating the maze of "Press 1 for Kolbold Enquiries, Press 2 for Thaumaturgic Wards and Bikini Mail, Press 3 for..."

All I want is to be able to log in. As me. With my old account. Please.

Help me Wizards Support, you're my only hope.

ps: and if anyone has an email, or can suggest an alternative method of communication that someone at wizards might actually see... I'm all ears.

thanks for listening.

I'm in the same situation and lost my original account during merge. I know of other people in this situation as well. I phoned and emailed WoTC but they haven't fix it yet so had to create an alternate account in the meantime.

Here are the contacts: Hope that help!

I know the feeling. I lost my original account during the merge over to the horrid gleemax system they were using for a while there. I also feel your frustration, as I too had a difficult time trying to recover my old account. In the end, it was useless as I lost all of my old data. My current account is the one I created when my first one borked. Doesn't feel the same though, esp. since I have been frequenting these forums since 2001.
