Monk bonus attack damage modifer?

I need a clarification about one thing regarding monks and unarmed damage. Specifically, I created a halfling monk and I read the martials arts section that Dex can be applied to unarmed attacks and that for a bonus action the monk can make a extra unarmed attack.

Here's the problem: the DM is applying the "Two Weapon Fighting" rules to the second attack so he is saying the second attack will not get the Dex modifier for damage (like an offhand weapon). I have seen other places on the web say that it applies to all unarmed attacks so the modifier would get applied to both the regular and extra attack. I looked in the but saw no definitive answer.

Does the damage modifer apply to the bonus unarmed attack(s)/all unarmed attacks or does it work off the two weapon fighting rules and lose the damage modifer?

From my reading at least they get the DEX bonus to the extra unarmed attack.

The hint being that you're reading the section in the Monk Class page that at no point mentions the lack of a damage modifier as opposed the TWF rules that are in an entirely different chapter and specify it.

monks's martial arts is not TWF.
monks are better at it then a wizard.

I asked this same thing earlier, here's the breakdown...

When you get a "bonus action" consider it just a second normal action. Anything that applies to an "Action" in the round also applies to the "bonus action". The bonus action can be whatever action you choose it to be. Unless the ability limits the coices you may make.
