Multclass paladins spell slots

Hi,

A third level paladin wil get 3 1st levelspell slots.

A third level paladin that multiclasses into a, let's say, fighter, then gets 2 first level spell slots, as per the multiclassing rules.

Is that right?  As written, it certainly seems so.  But it also seems an unfair hit - does anyone else see it this way?

Thanks,

Neil

One level of fighter does not affect your Spellcasting ability. The multiclass spellcaster table doesn't even come into play, because you only have one Spellcasting class.

Thank you.  I literally just realized that as I re-read the rules.

Thanks,

Remember that it also dramatically improves the paladin's casting ability if they snag some levels of Sorc, so it's a fair trade-off.

I had never considered the multiclassing implications for a Paladin on the multiclassing table. Seems like grabbing just one level of a spellcasting class would really give them a lot more spellcasting, at least early on.
