As such, lets say I have a 10th level Wizard who just leveled up to 11, and instead of taking another level of wizard this character instead takes a level of druid. As a druid, could the character prepare a 5-6th level druid spell, or is the character limited to leadning and preparing 5th level wizard spells and 1st level druid spells? As such, if it is the later, could this character be incapable of copying a 6th level spell into the spellbook and preparing it, even though the character has a 6th level spell slot? |

Spellbook feature for wizard is based on spell slots not on wizard level. Putting a spell in my spellbook isn't preparing or casting it so the multiclass rules wouldn't apply to that feature. |

If only for the fact that that's what a spellbook is, to me. A wizard doesn't KNOW spells like a Sorcerer. Yeah, he may havethe basics down (as often described in the fluff), but needs his spellbook to get the phrasing, materials, and gestures just right...Otherwise he wouldn't even need it
Cantrips, though, they totally got that shiz on lockdown. But that's the nature of Cantrips for all classes, because they're described as spells they've been practicing/doing forever so they can do it in their sleep! |
