I will DM some game at my local game shop and I was woundering about new players. The wednesday night we have our core group (5 players who are ALWAYS present every week) and on average 1 randoms new player coming in and out some of them come agan every 4-5 week, other never come back.  and we have a second group going on monday.

What would happen if:

If one of the wednesday player (a dual weilding barbarian) miss a week for X reason. we tell him that he missed the thundertree village quest for example. From the rule, he could join the monday group when they'll do thundertree village quest. (or if a player from an other city move in our city and start playing with us)

In the thundertree quest there is a interesting named magical weapon (named Hew). The wednesday group found that item and give it to the fighter. The dual weilding barbarian also found the item in the monday group. The next week the barbarian come back in the wednesday night group, now the wednesday night group got 2 magical item named Hew? how do you explain the duplication of the same item? and the Monday night group lost this item and now the group is weaker then suppose.

In Thundertree the green dragon is suppose to run away when he get bloodied (and come back at a later time in the story) but if for some weird reason the monday group killed the dragon, how do you merge together both story, the barbarian killed the green dragon while the main group saw him run away.

And those random players, they probably have no magical item so by the rule the next magical item that the group found automatically go to them? and at the end of the night, the item disapear. So since we generally get a new random player every week, the group will never get new magical items after the first one, because those item will always go to that random player who have no magical item?

Then the abuse of this system:

Assuming that the module for the organize play will be available online (and let's be realistic, those module will be available even if only illegally because someone scanned it and post it online) Player will be able to know that in Thundertree there is that powerfull Hew weapon, so the barbarian could willingly skip that session so the fighter can have it, join the monday group to get the item and there for making the wednesday group more powerfull then suppsose.

From what I understand caracter from outside organize play can still be brought in organize play, so what is stopping me from creating a caracter lvl 1 using the organize play rules, then ask one of my friend to run him trought the adventure the wednesday group already did (with 3 other friends) and I can have all the magical item that I want from that group, then I join the wednesday group with a caracter having all 3-4 magical item while the rest of the group got 1 magicla item each. Even without the little item card an item is still suppose to be legit so even pass level 5 if my caracter die, i could simply run my new caracter trought the previsouly play dungeon with a second group and "level up" and gear up my caracter with all the magical item I want to catch up with the regular group. Like if I was playing a MMORPG.

The Adventurers League character logsheet, on which all AL activity is supposed to be logged, has a space for DCI number -- only the player whose DCI number is on the logsheet should be playing that character. If you as DM note that a player is playing somebody else's character, you should mention it to the organizer/store owner and tell the player to bring a different, legal character to the table or leave the event.

Also, see the 'Cheating' sidebar on p.12 of the Adventurers League Player's Guide -- if you note a character's logsheet says he has 3-4 magic items and it's not clear that he got them legally, you can simply rule that he doesn't have those items for your adventure. Don't be a jerk about it, but let the player know that cheesing the system is not acceptable. If he gets aggressive during this discussion, get the organizer/store owner involved as above (and refer to Code of Conduct on p.14 of the ALPG).

It's a self-policing system, but the ALPG gives you published guidelines on how to act in that role (with the implication that the Wizards team will support you if you follow those guidelines).

As for how to handle players moving between different sessions of Encounters, that's really up to you to resolve if you're offering Encounters on more than one night per week.

I mean the barbarian player playing his own caracter and he's not doing the same adventure twice, he skip on wednesday night, play in Monday night instead and come back on wednesday after ward. and what if the barbarian found a secret cache monday that the wednesday group didn't find, could when he join back the wednesday group tell the player the location of the hidden cache so the wednesday grop could go get it too?

Bringing a caracter for a home game to the organize game is totally legal if the caracter follow the rule from organize play (must play the release adventure, no homebrew race/class/sub class, must use the average hit point per level etc...) and having all the gold/magical item from those adventure isn't against the rule, if the other player in the home game agrees to give all the loot to that single caracter. So it is really not against the rule to bring such a caracter to organized game, it is very cheesy tho.

5E is supposed to be designed around *not* having magic items.  The fact that no one in the group on Monday got the item shouldn't matter in the overall story.  It's entirely possible for the party to not find or acquire any given magical item, depending on how they handle things.  Now, to be fair, the player who skipped the Wednesday game should have passed on the magic item, knowing that his group was going through the same mod and they would have found said item (possibly).  However, there is nothing in AL that says he cannot take that item because he is playing on a different day.  In fact, the only way you could have limited him from taking it is if he already had a magical item and someone else at the table who didn't have one wanted it.  If the table all agreed to let the Barbarian have it, then the Barbarian got it.  The fact that they may never see that Barbarian again is beside the point.

anyone can give me some hint about what to do with how to merge 2 differents storyline together (like in my example where one member of my group killed the dragon with is previous group, but the main group didn't killed him and let him run away?
