Polymorph as Healing

Mar 16, 2015 10:23:34		This is something I've been letting my players get away with but feels just a little shifty. In our party the palidin goes down pretty often, but rather then let the cleric heal her up a few HPs just to get hit and go down again, the Bard will instead polymorph her into a giant ape so she'll jump right back into the fight with 100+ HPs. It apears to be RAW but seems like a bit of a hack. What do you think?

It's fine.

 

A 4th level spell that was dedicated to healing wouldn't give quite as many hit points, sure, but it also wouldn't reduce any ability scores, lower the target's AC, and prevent the target from speaking or using some of their features or their equipment like polymorph does.
