I want to make sure I am understanding a mechanic correctly. Let's say I have a 6th level Conjuration Wizard.

In a single turn can I:

Move with first action

Use Benign Transposition with my second action, teleporting 30 ft. And potentially swapping spots with another party member

Then, as a bonus action, cast Misty Step, teleporting another 30 ft, and since MS is a Conj. Spell, I regain the use of BT (potentially for use next turn)

This is mechanically sound, yeah?

Note that "moving" isn't an "action", strictly speaking- it's just something you can do on your turn.  However, yes, you can move, use Benign Transposition, and cast misty step on the same turn.  That being said, as Benign Transposition consumes the Wizard's "action" for the turn, I'd be pretty loathe to use that if I could safely cast an offensive spell instead.

By default, using Benign Transposition in an open area (without swapping places) is roughly the same as using the Dash action. It is a good way to automatically escape grapples, though, or difficult and dangerous terrain (like the area of a spike growth or Evard's Black Tentacles).

I personally like Benign Transposition for its exploration uses.  The Conjurer could teleport across a pit or chasm, up to a nook in the side of a cliff, etc.

Also keep in mind that if all you need to do is move the extra distance, you could just take the dash action instead.

Yeah I see what you guys are saying in regards to the Dash action.

I was thinking maybe if a Fighter was behind me in initiative I could run up near an enemy then Benign Transposition to swap places with the Fighter (shortening his necessary move distance on his turn). The Misty Step could then put me at a different location to be in position for the next round along with regenerating my BT. To be honest, the BT would primarily a vehicle for someone that needs to get closer and the MS would be a way to get the BT back, so to speak.

Also works in an emergency:

DEX Fighter: "A cliff? Aw crud. I thought Dex was supposed to be a God Stat, and now I have to leap across?"

Wizard: "It's easy, look!" *Misty step to the other side.*

Fighter: *Jumps, rolls a natural 1, and proceeds to fall down the ravine*

Wizard: *Sighs heavily, casting Benign Transposition with the fighter, then Misty Step to get back on the other side*

Fighter: "Ahhhhh! Oh wait, I'm not...falling anymore"

Wizard "Now what did we learn...?"
