The Player's Handbook usually gives races a +2 in one stat and then a +1 in another stat. While I know the plan was innitially to do two +1 stats for each race, that seemed to have changed with the release of the Player's Handbook. The Eberron races, however, all return to the original formula of two +1 stats for each race. Is this an oversight? A method of balancing other powerful racial stats (this seems really unlikely, given their racial abilities)? Are we simply supposed to decide which rules set we subscribe to and make one of the stats +2 or something?
What do you think? Does anyone have any inside knowledge on this? Was there an errata I missed?
Thanks! Lord Dreadman |

There are already exception to the +2 to 1 stat, then +1 to a subrace stat. Mountain Dwarf has two different +2 to stats (CON and STR). Human is +1 to each stat or +1 to two stats plus other stuff. Half-elf is +2 to CHR, then choose two at +1. If the stats for Eberron remain as they are, then I would say each of those are exceptions for each individual race and not any indication of a general change to how racial stats will be set. |

Good response. Thanks again! Lord Dreadman |
