It says the ranger's companion gets to add the ranger's proficiency bonus to damage rolls, but what counts as a damage roll? Adding it to each attack when an animal can make multiple attacks is easy enough (pounce, multiattack, etc). What about poison, like the giant wolf spider or giant poisonous (venomous) snake? What about on the extra charge damage?
I'm venturing to guess that it is yes on the multiple attacks (obvious), yes on the poison (seems raw, as it is a separate saving throw), and no on the charge (as it is bonus damage, not a separate attack).
Thoughts? |

The giant wolf spider and giant venomous snake examples consist of one damage roll for the piercing damage and any poison damage (the damage roll for the Bite attack), they aren't different damage rolls. |
