I am working out my Ranger build and I have come accross some questions I can't answer.
At 3rd Level I will pick the Hunters Archetype specifically the 'Horde Breaker' It says:
"Once on each of your turns when you make a weapon attack, you can make another attack with the same weapon against a different creature that is within 5 feet of the original target and within ranger of your weapon"
Then at 5th level I gain an additional attack.
So, if I have two attacks with my Longbow and there are two clumps of Goblins I can fire at one Goblin with one attack and those within 5 feet of it and then with my second attack fire at the other clump of goblins (picking on in the middle) and all the goblins within 5 feet of it.
Right?
Then at 11th level I can pick 'Volley' and shoot at all creatures withn 10 feet of a point I can see in my longbows range, does that mean I can do that twice as I have two attacks?
I am gonna need to carry a LOT of arrows around.
Lastly, Uncanny Dodge. It says I can use my reaction (Dex check?) to halve the damage done to me by an opponent I can see. Does this also mean that if I am hit with an area effect (say dragons breath) and I make my Dex save and take half the damage because I have Uncanny Dodge I in fact take half of that halved damage? So only 1/4 of the original damage?
Many thanks for the help
Phill
