| #1Moot_DundleSep 06, 2014 14:21:20 | Hello, There is no read magic spell that I can find in the 5e PHB. What's the deal? How is it handled now? Sorry if ths has come up before. Searched the forums for a while and could not find anything. Thanks Moot Dundle |
| #2Thoughts_My_AimSep 06, 2014 14:54:56 | What was it used for before?
Presumably if it isn't in the book, then whatever it used to do is now assumed to be something wizards can do automatically. |

You just cast the spell. Copying spells from an enemy spellbook is also done sans spells. You simply decipher the captured spellbooks unique way of recording the spell, practice it a bit, and transcribe it into your spellbook using your own shorthand notation methods.
The spell is redundant in 5E |
