#1 Vladis Jan 30, 2015 15:46:26	In a campaign I died as a tiefling, my friends brought me back with reincarnate {recreation} (cause there's no negatives) so after all was said and done, I came back as a 146 year old wood elf... we all got in to an agruement saying if I get proficiency in a long bow or not... their argument is saying that they get proficient in long bows is because the elves get training for years, my argument is that i am an old body! so which of us is right?
#2 AaronOfBarbaria Jan 30, 2015 17:46:51	Assuming you mean reincarnate when you say recreation, the final sentence of the spell is very clear: "It retains the capabilities it had in its original form, except it exchanges its original race for the new one and changes its racial traits accordingly."   Bold added for emphasis.   Whether the racial trait is described as training, described as a result of their biology, or even described as a gift from their patron deity, you remove all of the racial traits of your original race (racial trait being defined as any game mechanic which is granted the character as a result of race choice) and then add all of the racial traits of the race of your new body.
