#1 Sorxores Oct 24, 2014 6:24:30	ok in my group, we had some question like:   The sleep spell, does it make you unconscious?,incapacitated? or you are simply prone? since the spell itself doesn't say it. But when we read the Dues for the Dead module we learn that when the kobolt is SLEEPING on his chair he lose Dexterity to his AC, and he is unconscious. Does this mean that sleeping = unconscious and losing Dex to AC?   We are also wondering if you could use your action to use a bonus action (like casting spiritual weapon (as a bonus action) then using your action to use the bonus action from spiritual weapon to make a attack with it (basically making 2 attack with the spell per turn)   Then in courting of fire, you can read a ennemy is suppose to cast a "shield of the faith" as a bonus action then spiritual weapon (an other bonus action)? and neither of them are cantrip, meaning that technically this goes against the rules for casting spell as bonus action.   Does monster rule are completly different then player rules? or should they work basically the same? is this a mistake in the module allowing the monster to cast 2 spells in the same round? are those "errata" for the PHB where unconscious should remove Dex from AC even if it's not in the first edition of the PHB?
#2 AaronOfBarbaria Oct 24, 2014 6:44:25	The sleep spell states that it makes affected creatures unconscious (see the condition appendix for details) for the duration, or until they are forcibly woken up.   Regarding using bonus actions - you only get the one bonus action per turn, and you can't trade your action to gain another by the standard rules.   Monsters and PCs follow the same rules of play, and if something is telling you that you should violate those rules without also explaining that such is specifically allowed by some special trait, then it is in error and you should adjust it back to the way the rules work if you are concerned about sticking to the rules.
