Hi all.

Skill grant bonuses to ability checks, but it isn't clear wheter or not they can apply to saving throws. For example, should a character with acrobatic skill be able to apply its bonus to Dex saving throw to avoid trap? Or charecter with Athletic skill - to get out of a web spell.

No.

You can be proficent in Dex saves, but that's different from being proficent in acrobatics.

But i can use in in some cases.

PHB:

"When you land in difficult terrain. you must succeed on a DC 10 Dexterity (Acrobatics) check to land on your feet. Otherwise. you land prone."

Why i cant in other cases& And where is the rule, that says, what i cant do it?

P.S.

Sorry for my english

The easiest way that I remember it is that if it's a situation that the PC has control of, it'd be an Ability Check. If they're not the one in control of the situation, it's a Saving Throw.

There might be some slight overlap, but usually in those situations there's a specific effect that will tell you what one to roll.

Most illusions use an Int(Investigation) check to determine their nature.
