| #2AaronOfBarbariaMay 22, 2015 17:59:57 | Good synergy with daggers since their range is short enough that don't having disadvantage at along range is actually a benefit to your effective range (longer range weapons already have most or all of the battlefield within their short range, so don't get as big of a benefit from this feature).
Ignoring half and three-quarters cover is also very useful even when wielding thrown daggers.
The only issue is that the -5 to-hit for +10 damage option is worded such that it only works with ranged weapons, and daggers are melee weapons that you can make ranged attacks with, which a DM might not be so lax as to treat as the same thing. |
| (Reply to #2)rabbedrabit | ya its a issue my dm is bringing up now that i can do 40+ damage in 1 round with action surge. dont like me dropping enemy wizards so fast

| #4rabbedrabitMay 22, 2015 18:05:42 | i admit it is a little broken |

| #6melloredMay 22, 2015 18:34:21 | you could simply get several hand crossbows, and draw/shoot/drop them. same effect as the dagger. |

| #9melloredMay 23, 2015 6:23:13 | you do get a a solid boost if you allow the extra attack from TWF |
| #10reddaemonMay 23, 2015 7:14:33 | Daggers count as melee weapons even when thrown, so if you want the +10 damage effect you have to use darts instead. |
| #11randlMay 23, 2015 9:10:16 | I thought the big hangup on this was being able to draw enough daggers to make all those attacks. With a feat, I can see making 2 thrown attacks each turn, but getting that third dagger to hand is definitely out of the question on the second round (this assumes you didn't start with empty hands on the first round). Though, on my home game I have ruled that darts can be reskinned to any small thrown weapon that can be drawn and thrown using rules similiar to the ammunition rules. |

Since they're not ammunition, they're subject to the Interacting with Objects rule. At my table, I rule that you can draw multiple daggers at once, but you can only throw one at a time. Same for darts. I don't allow the same character to draw multiple javelins or spears though. Daggers and darts only. I like the concept of a rapid-fire dagger thrower and I was surprised that the rules don't really support it. I guess the assumption is that a fighter with 4+ attacks will be using bigger, badder weapons.
And if the DM is a stickler for not allowing the -5/+10 from sharpshooter to apply to daggers since they're melee weapons, you could just use darts instead, and maybe reskin them as "throwing daggers".
