#1 kkuryliw Oct 17, 2014 20:22:07	I've tried searching through the forums as I'm certain this has been answered somewhere before, but in reference to casting Shillelagh that has been obtained through multiclassing (Druid, Nature Cleric, Lore Bard) or Magic Initiate feat, would you not be required to use the spellcasting ability of the class you gained the spell from rather than your main class? If I am a Paladin and I dip into Nature Cleric 1 and grab Shillelagh as my cantrip, wouldn't it go off of Wisdom instead of Charisma for the attack and damage rolls?   The same would go for any multiclass spell. Same example, if as one of my daily memorized Cleric spells I grab Guiding Bolt, that attack roll would go off of Wisdom as well.   I'm not finding anywhere in the RAW that allows you to pick which spellcasting class you wish to use when casting a spell. It almost always specifically states to use the ability modifier for the class in which you gained the spell.   Appreciate the help and clarification!
