Clarification of the term "creature" when used to define spell targets:

Does just creature refer to friendly and hostile creatures?

If so, does this include NPCs and PCs, alike?

Thank you much!

"creature" as used in spell targeting refers to any non-object - whether friendly, hostile, player-controlled or not.

Aaron is correct.

As far as sleep is concerned, I highly suggest the caster either start with the spell or be very careful not to include a PC in the area. It can be a very strong spell, but a wounded ally in the area makes it a hindrance instead.
