Spiritual Weapon and OAs

Does a Spiritual Weapon get an opportunity attack if a target moves out of its reach?

 

I would require the caster to be able to see both the weapon and the target and use the caster's reaction to do so. Does that sound reasonable?

 

Also, would the caster and the weapon get advantage if the caster placed the weapon on the opposite side of the target (i.e. get flanking advantage as per the DMG)?

Thanks for your response. I just re-read the flanking optional rule and it clearly says two creatures need to do the flanking. I think your other interpretations make good sense, too.

No, although some feats allow the use of spells for opportunity attacks, the use of spiritual weapon requires a bonus action and you may only take bonus actions on your turn.
