stacking dim light?

I don,t know if I just missed it in the book, but please I would like to know if there is a ruling RAW about this:

 

if 2 dim light overlap, is it making this region bright light? For example:

 

Torches: generate 20ft of bright light then an additional 20ft of dimlight.

 

so if I got 2 humans each one holding a torch 60 ft from each other. the first 20ft near them is bright light from the torch no question about it; but the middle 40ft where both 20ft of dim light overlap, is it still dim light? or does light effect stack to become bright light?

 

If not do we need more source of dim light?

It's not RAW, and I probably wouldn't do it that way, either. Shining two flashlights in the same spot will only make it as bright as the brightest flashlight (noticably, anyway. Certainly not enough to increase it "mechanically"!). Putting two candles next to one another does nothing special, except maybe extend the radius of dim light slightly (by the difference in distance between the two candles)

 

Otherwise adventurers would carry candelabras everywhere...

Light is pretty complicated. Sometimes it will stack, sometimes it won't.

More candles definitely increases brightness.
