#1 Undrhil Sep 14, 2015 1:03:31	I have an idea for my character and I was wondering how this metamagic would interact with a spell that has only verbal components.   Basically, Geas takes 1 minute to cast and has Verbal components.  Subtle Spell metamagic would allow me to cast it without verbal (or somatic) components.  I know that I would have to state my command for the creature once the spell is complete, but I am thinking that it might come down to a "Guys, keep him monologuing while I cast this spell!" kind of situation.  I want to be able to declare that I am casting Geas, using Subtle Spell to make it not use any components, basically, and then be able to declare my command once it's cast.   Storywise, the bad guy can monologue and shouldn't be aware that I am casting anything, except that I am glaring at him/her the whole time.   Is that how these would interact? Yes, I expect people will tell me it's up to my DM.  Stop saying that, I want to know rules interactions.
#2 Danny_Montanny Sep 14, 2015 3:52:50	As far as I can tell, yes. Metamagic doesn't require that the spell must be one that has a casting time of one action, so you can silently cast the spell so long as nothing breaks your concentration while you do it.
