So say a character wants to summon an outsider of some description, lets say a devil, to be interrogated... Is there any way to do this? So far I can only find rules for summoning Fey, Celestial and Elemental beings.

I figure it can be somewhat bound there by an Inverted Magic Circle, which simply means the character would have to deal with any magic or ranged attacks the devil can spit out.

Any better ways of going about this?

Planar ally lets you summon a fiend...

Ahhh. Very nice. Thanks. I seem to get lost a bit looking through the spell list.

There aren't any spells (yet) that let you summon fiends, other than planar ally and gate. It would be pretty easy to create a conjure fiend spell that works like conjure elemental, though. You could ask your DM if he'd allow it.

The DMG has rules for creating spells.
