#1 Noon Aug 24, 2014 20:54:14	Is checking for whether you get a surprise round (which as I understand it involves everyone in the party passing the opponents passive perception) and stealthily moving two different things, even if they go off the one roll. So maybe you fail to get a surprise round (likely), but if you beat the enemies passive perception then you are hidden from them when combat begins?   I'm thinking of having my rogue use the ready action to wait for the melee fighters to get into melee, so I can get sneak attack damage (as I don't tend to get the 'unseen attacker' advantage)
#2 Archon007 Aug 24, 2014 22:50:02	Not all surprise rounds are based around stealth. You could just kick open a door and get surprise on some guards playing cards. But yes if you are hidden and ambush a group then you are hidden for your opening attack.
