Throw Weapons?

Let's say a high level Fighter chooses to dual wield throw weapons.  Let me ask you a couple questions.

First, does the Archery combat style give the +2 to Throw Weapons when thrown?

Second, if the Fighter has 3 attacks, plus 1 bonus attack for dual wielding, can the fighter throw 4 Throw Weapons?  Or does the taking them off of the place they are held slow the fighter down too much to be able to throw extra ones?

Third, is there a Bolas in this edition?  I do not see one in the PHB.

Fourth, if indeed I can only attack once with each Throw Weapon due to having to draw two more, would the Dual Wielder feat allow me to draw two more to use and attack?

Thanks in advance!

Keep in mind that this is a DM ruling centric edition.  Even if the rules preclude you from drawing so many axes, if your character concept is an axe throwing maniac, talk to your DM.  I don't see how it would be abusive to let your character draw that many axes and throw them as a single PC exception to the rules.  Expecially if you set up some sort of throwing axe bandolier or something to make drawing them easy and quick.

Archery style only works with Ranged Weapons, not ranged attacks made with weapons. Most thrown weapons are melee weapons. You only get the Bonus Action attack with a 2nd weapon if you are armed with two melee weapons. If either of these weapons has the thrown property, that weapon may be thrown.

The problem is replacing the thrown weapons after you have thrown them. You can replace one as your free object interaction. Drawing a second weapon in a turn requires using your action, which you used to attack.... Only Ammunition may be accessed as part of an attack - an arrow or bolt is not a weapon, the bow/crossbow is the weapon.

Would you incur disadvantage within 5 feet due to making a ranged attack within the reach of an opponent as well however?

Of course, that is where the advantage of using thrown weapons comes in: at that range, you don't have to throw them.

For thrown weapons, archery style only works with darts as that is a thrown ranged weapon. Thrown melee weapons still count as melee weapons even when thrown. It takes your object interaction to draw another, but with dual wielder you can draw two. The DM could rule that you can draw more though. There are no bolas as far as I know.

I say going by RAW you can only draw one weapon per turn without using an action. See "Other Activity on Your Turn" (player basic rules, p.70). If a feat says you can draw two weapons, then you can draw two, but not more.

And I agree with reddaemon. Archery style doesn't say that it works for "ranged attacks", it says it works for "ranged weapons". So it only works for weapons listed under "Ranged weapons".

There was a tweet saying that a thrown melee weapon is counted as a ranged weapons.  However, now that I look back at it was from Mike Mearls not (the official rules lawyer) Jeremy Crawford.

Bolas don't exist because they'd be redundant. A net can restrain, which is strictly better. Reduces movement to 0 instead of requiring half to stand up, grants advantage to all attackers instead of adjacent ones, victim makes attacks at disadvantage (same for prone or restrained), and bonus! Disadvantage on DEX saves.

The advantage of bolas in the playtest was slightly more range, DEX-save-based instead of STR, and it did 1 damage (and hence would work with smite, etc). Still never used the bolas my bounty hunter character took, but we also never reached a level where a couple of hits wouldn't put any enemy in the ground.

Yep. And if your DM wants to give you bolas then you can have bolas. But if you want your schtick to be "I trip at range" then you don't need to rely on your DM, you can be a fighter, make it to third level, and use your maneuvers. Just like if you want your schtick to be "I use mage hand for massive lulz" then you can be an arcane trickster and make it to level 3. The game lets you do all kinds of things. If your DM decides its OK to make one of them easier then that's cool. But if not the options are still there.
