| #1ArcShotSep 15, 2015 8:59:26 | The Thunderwave spell can push a target 10 feet away if it fails a Con saving throw. 1) What is the size limit that can be pushed? It is not stated in the book but hard to imagine pushing a huge monster 10feet with just a 1st level spell. I guess a Gargantuan-size creature should not be pushed since it is bigger than 15x15feet? 2) When being pushed, will it trigger opportunity attacks? |

Imagine you were kicked with the same force it would take to push a cat back 1 foot. It's probably not going to lift your feet off the ground and send you sailing 1ft through the air, but it may well push you off-balance and cause you to stumble back, amounting to 1ft of movement. Especially if it catches you off-guard or at a good angle (i.e. you failed your CON save). That might help you picture what's going on with the thunderwave and the dragon. |

Keep in mind that realistically, for a very large creature (particularly something like a dragon), if they've taken even a single step backwards, they have moved ten feet.
