When attacking with a touch spell (inflict wounds) and miss, does the spell go away/disipate?

I don't believe it specifies but from my understanding: Yes it does.

 

The spell allows you to make an attack and unless there is a specified effect on a miss or it specifies that the spell is not used up, then I presume it is used up. The same as a ranged attack that misses.
