#1 abs1nth Sep 19, 2014 1:57:27	Basic rules text reads: "First, you must find an instructor willing to teach you. The DM determines how long it takes, and whether one or more ability checks are required. The training lasts for 250 days and costs 1 gp per day."   Now is it just me or does that read like a direct contradiction? Or are they referring to the time it takes to find the instructor and the ability checks that may be involved in convincing him you are worthy or asking around town where he may be?
#2 Acrilos Sep 19, 2014 3:58:30	Due to the position of the sentence in the text, I would say "The DM determines how long it takes..." means the time needed to find the teacher. You really can't expect one to spawn when needed, this is not a MMORPG.  The ability checks can be used to convince or find someone who is willing to teach your character. It can also be the opportunity for a nice roleplaying episode in itsdelf.
