i was wondering if treasure for encounters has been addressed beyond what was put into the basic rules . We are currently playing in the hoarde module and because there is no treasure of any kind listed by creature or encounter , we are recieving nothing  and with the statement that monsters weapons and armor are pretty much worthless as treasure. how is a group suppose to collect monies and or trade goods to purchase the reqiuired foodstuffs needed to avoid negitive effects and even death

All of the loot for the Hoard missions are listed in the "Rewards" text as far as I can tell. In the Starter Set and Expeditions they use the heading "Treasure" instead. I recall in the playtest that there were some guidelines for awarding treasure, but I have accidentally deleted my files. I'm sure the MM or DMG will re-explain how to award treasure for creatures that are killed.

I've made a note to re-examine all of my documents and books to see if there is any better explanation for item awards. From the Starter Set, there are few goblins that give any treasure at all, and a named one has less than 5gp worth of loot. Hopefully someone else can weigh in with more details that I've overlooked. It would be great if someone would copy/paste the treasure award text from the playtest, as I really wish I could look those up. I'm still kicking myself for that one...

Treasure guideline will no doubt be in the DMG.

Although I believe the guidelines will be "give as much or as little as you want, there is no expected wealth/level guidelines. However these are the consequences of low vs high treasure games".

Have you just mentioned your concerns to your DM?

I thought that, according to the rules, the players are not supposed to require treasure of any sort to be balanced. So any items or treasure that was handed out was super-bonus and ought not to be expected.

I've been trying to figure out how much treasure the party should have. They just wound up getting massive upgrades by killing some people with plate amour.
