Hello.

Our group has 2 circle of the moon druids in it, which isn't to wierd seeing as there are 8 pc's and the dm. During our last session, the two druids (me and another guy) made a house ruling on Wind Wall to save ourselves time and argument. For quick reference the official text is as follows:

Wind Wall
3rd-level evocation

A wall o f strong w ind rises from the ground at a point you choose within range. You can make the wall up to 50 feet long, 15 feet high, and 1 foot thick. You can shape the wall in any way you choose so long as it makes one continuous path along the ground. The wall lasts for the duration. When the wall appears, each creature within its area must make a Strength saving throw. A creature takes 3d8 bludgeoning damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. The strong wind keeps fog, smoke, and other gases at bay. Small or smaller flying creatures or objects can’t pass through the wall. Loose, lightweight materials brought into the wall fly upward. Arrows, bolts, and other ordinary projectiles launched at targets behind the wall are deflected upward and automatically miss. (Boulders hurled by giants or siege engines, and similar projectiles, are unaffected.) Creatures in gaseous form can’t pass through it.

The question was "What happens to a normal, physical creature of any relevant mass who steps through the Wind Wall after it appears?" Our answer was "it takes the full 3d8 damage or makes the strength save for half damage." A few days later I'm wondering if that was the right choice. The text doesn't specifically state that this happens, so I decided to ask the community.

This question could apply to wall of fire as well, although I admit to not reading up on the one yet.

P.S. this house ruling saved the party once when the Paladin was forced by his oath of devotion to turn and fight the horde of hellhounds chasing us. It bought us time to charm the Paladin into running the hell away.

Wall of fire, wall of ice, wall of thorns, and prismatic wall all have specific rules for damaging creatures that pass into or through the wall after its creation.

Wind wall does not, so I'd agree with Plaguescarred.
