Wand of Cure Wounds

Obviously, we won't have magic item rules until the DMG is released. That said, I've extrapolated one possible version of the Wand of Cure Wounds using the Wand of Magic Missile as a basis.

My question isn't really concerning the item itself. I'm confident an official version will exist. My question is regarding the healing such a wand would supply in tandem with a character with the Healer feat.

We have a Paladin in our group, but no Cleric, Ranger, Druid or Bard. Any opinions on whether the Paladin, supplemented by a different PC with Healer and a Wand of Cure Wounds, can supply enough healing for a party of 5 to stay functional?

I should mention we are playing in Eberron, specifically focusing on an urban campaign in Sharn. That should mean we will generally have House Jorasco houses of healing at hand if the need is dire. That should also explain why I'd assume access to a Wand of Cure Wounds, should it be desired.

Thoughts? Is this enough healing for a Fighter, Paladin, ranged Rogue, ranged Warlock and a Wizard?

You have plenty of healing in just having the Paladin. The way HP and healing work in 5e, lay on hands is insanely good. All you have to do is save your lay on hands for when someone goes down and then heal them for 1 HP to get them back up. This is a nifty trick to get through those last few encounters after your party has exhausted all their hit dice. When you are reduced to 0 HP, any extra damage is lost so it is more cost effective to just save your lay on hands and only use it 1 HP at a time.

Paladins are decent healers without the feat anyway. Lay on Hands plus spells instead of just a few more spells at lower levels. It's the higher levels they struggle with more.

Higher levels are more my concern. I have a feeling the bulk of my spells will being funneled into Divine Smite. The Healer feat in the party actually lies with the Rogue, a self-sufficient survivalist type former Soldier.

I think we will have plenty of time to buy, hire or recruit healing, if the need arises as levels advance. The Paladin's healing capability seems more of a safety net. I do like being able to remove conditions with Lay on Hands. You really appreciate that when the need arises. It's a low level class feature that does the job of any number of spells, as needs demand. Awesome feature.
