Warlock and Thunderwave

Finally got my PHB today and noticed something that might need to be errata'd.

Under Warlock > Pact Magic > Spell Slots the example refers to the Warlock using Thunderwave, yet it is not on his spell list. Should it be on the list or is this a holdover from an earleir copy?

LOVE THE BOOK BTW!

This does appear to be a mistake. I just received my copy from my local FLGS and can confirm it. I even checked to see if thunderwave was added to the spell list by any of the patrons, but no luck. Hopefully we will get official errata.

It is a holdover from ... an earlier document.  Not sure which way they'll go on this, though I can't imagine there'd be any harm in allowing a warlock to cast Thunderwave if he wants to do so.  The easiest fix is to just add Thunderwave to the spell list rather than make an erratum for the example text.

It's misleading, but not incorrect.

If you have thunderwave, somehow...  like by a feat or multiclassing...

You would cast it at a level 3 spell.

It doesn't really matter anyway, as any spell with the ability to spend higher level slots to make more powerful works for the example.

"If you can happen to cast cure wounds, it would be as a 3rd level spell"

Doesn't make a ton of sense but you still understand how things work,

The Warlock 'Quick Build' also says to take the first level spell Ray of Sickness but that isn't listed as a Warlock spell.

Disregard.  I misread the Warlock.
