When a warlock gets a new spell known, are they allowed to choose a ritual?

What about booklocks, with the Invocation for a ritual book?

Just curious!  I know it says you can copy rituals into it, but would it be possible to gain one with one of your 'known spells' as well.

Deal, so would only be able to learn ones that are not on the list by copying them over?

Yes, and then you would only learn them as rituals.

Excellent. What I thought, but wanted to make certain I was reading it right!

You can always learn any spell on your spell list of the appropriate level whenever you gain a spell known.  If that spell has the ritual tag you cannot cast it as a ritual because Warlocks do not have the Ritual Caster property.

However, if you are a Pact of the Tome Warlock and take the Invocation to gain rituals it states that you can now cast any Warlock spell you know with the ritual tag as a ritual (in addition to any spell you add to your Tome).

Right, I was more wondering about spells that are not on the warlock ritual list, since they can cast any rituals (Of appropriate level) that they can get into their book.  Seems I'll have to search out those scrolls and books then!
