#1 RavingDork Dec 24, 2014 23:49:13	For the purposes of abilities and spells like blade ward, do a monster's natural attacks count as weapon attacks? What is actually considered a weapon attack? Please cite.
#2 Macv12 Dec 25, 2014 1:22:20	I haven't found anything specific. Under the heading Damage Rolls on PHB 196, it mentions "Each weapon, spell, and harmful monster ability specifies the damage it deals." It then lists how weapon and spell attack damage is determined, giving the vague implication that "harmful monster abilities" are not either of these. But I read that as referring to spell-like abilities, rather than claw attacks and such.   "Unarmed" is considered a weapon in the game, so I read the term "weapon attack" as referring to any physical attack that isn't a "spell attack." Monsters don't use the "unarmed" weapon from the weapon table though, so this isn't airtight RAW.
#3 mexrage Dec 25, 2014 1:40:18	Natural weapons (such as claws, bites, etc...) count as non-magical weapons, druids at higher level can make those count as magical weapons to bypass non-magical weapon resistance and inmunity
