| #1Slit518May 27, 2015 8:48:39 | At higher levels, what challenge rating is appropriate for mob monsters?
For example, at level 1, there are several challenge ratings that a geared toward the average party size of 4, and that keep it a balanced fight, CR 0 - means the party can fight a billion of these at a time and not worry (not literally a billion) in one encounter. CR 1/8 - means the party can fight 8 of these creatures in one encounter. CR 1/4 means the party can fight 4 of these creatures in one encounter. CR 1/2 means the party can fight 2 of these creatures in one encounter. CR 1 means the party can fight 1 of these creatures in one encounter.
So for higher levels, such as 2-20, how do I gear challenge rating? Do it just bump it up one CR rating per level to equal the odds? Would a level 2 party fighting 8 CR 1/4 creatures be a similar effect as a level 1 party fighting 8 CR 1/8 creatures? So at level 4 would the party's 1/8 CR actually be facing off with a 1 CR creature?
Thanks in advance for any opinions and insight! |
