The beserker barbarian can suffer exhaustion. Apart from a long rest, which removes 1 level of exhaustion, how else csn it be removed? Is there a spell that removes it? Clerics can raise dead at 5th level, surely they can remove a bit of tiredness? |

| #5DwarfLordSevenAug 19, 2014 8:29:12 | Page 291, top right box:
there are 6 levels of exhaustion: 1 Disadvantage on checks 2 speed halved 3 disadvantage on attacks and saves 4 hp max halved 5 speed 0 6 death
If an effect adds exhaustion, add 1 if an effect reduces exhaustion, subtract 1 Finishing a long rest reduces exhaustion by 1 if you have also eaten and drunk.
Another spell that likely removes exhaustion is Resurrection.
A workaround would be casting spells that negate the negative effects of exhaustion: Enhance Ability gives advantage on a check.... Haste doubles your speed...

Thanks for the replies all. So you need sleep or Greater Restoration, a 5th lvl spell, to remove 1 lvl of exhaustion. 5th lvl spell seems .... a bit much. its harder to remove tiredness than death (revivify 3rd lvl). Uhuh.

| #16UnknownMournerAug 20, 2014 14:21:48 | You could house rule long rest removing one and 8 hours of sleep removing another, and let players stack them, but don't allow them any sort of rolls or participation in any downtime activities. If there's a fight, they'll sleep through it, no Percpeiton checks allowed, no free forage rolls or crafting or whatever else a PC might do during a long rest.
Another option would be to find something you consider a fair trade, such as only healing half the normal HP, or not regaining some class feature that recharges during long rest.
If they are in town, the ritzy hotel might grant another, or at least a roll for it.
You might also flesh out rules for food and drink crafting for num nums that help out.
Then, there's always drugs. Some mountain weed for a Wis save penalty or some such.
If you're a player you could propose a feat to your DM. Some workhorse sort of feat that covers exhaustion, carrying capacity, etc. |
| #17LordOfTheChanceAug 24, 2014 9:50:14 | Personally I'm glad exhaustion is so hard to remove. For starters it balances out the Berserker's crazy strong ability of getting a extra attack every round...at 3rd level. That's a SERIOUS ability. It also fits RP wise to have the character wiped out afterwards. I really enjoy it as its been currently implemented. |
